Identity:

He was the son of John Philip Malleson and Anna Sophia Malleson and was born in Hove.

He married Catherine ('Katie') Ellen. In the 1861 census he was listed as a wine merchant, aged 31, living with his wife and three children in Hampstead. By 1881 they were living with a son in Croydon. By 1911 he had retired and he and his wife were staying with one son in Great Tew, Oxfordshire.

Life:

In April 1892 he bought Symphony in Grey and Green: The Ocean y072. He was then living in Croydon. It is not known when he sold it, but by 1904 it was owned by Richard Canfield.
