Exhibitions

  • 1886: 'Notes' - 'Harmonies' - 'Nocturnes', Second Series, Messrs Dowdeswell, London, 1886 (cat. no. 56) as 'Flesh-colour and green – Battledore and Shuttlecock'.

A journalist in one gossipy journal, The Bat, described it on 4 May 1886 as 'a picture of a child's garden party called Batteldore and Shuttlecock, which reveals more than could every fleck of every feather be counted in the tips of the toys.'
