The drawing on the verso of Japanese lady decorating a fan m0460, and several other drawings: r.: A study of a draped female figure; v.: Design m0377, Draped female figure m0378 and The Dancing Girl m0379 are studies for the figure at left in a projected figure composition, which was further developed in Sea Beach and Figures m0384 and Four women on a terrace by the sea m0385.
