• By 1908: 'Sketch for "Connie Gilchrist" ' was owned by Alan Summerly Cole (1846-1934), London, according to the Pennells;
• 1914: bought with Study for 'Portrait of Miss Leyland' m0502 and Sketch of 'Arrangement in Brown and Black: Portrait of Miss Rosa Corder' m0714 from P. J. Sabin by Colnaghi, London dealers, 21 May 1914;
• 1914: sold to the British Museum.
