• 1891: Edward Guthrie Kennedy (1849-1932), New York art dealer, brought the drawing to Paris to be signed by Whistler.

• 1961: bought by the artist Joseph Solman (1909-2008);
• By 2003: collection of Janet Freeman;
• By 2018: private collection.
