It shows a rectangular frame on a stand, perhaps for a mirror or screen.

The frame was drawn neatly. With its narrow frame and lack of decoration, it resembles other studies or designs by Whistler for furniture, such as r. and v.: Designs for a flower stand m1399.
The letter is on two sides, and discusses various matters, none of which relates to the drawing done upside down on the fourth side.
It was not exhibited.
