Studies of heads was drawn by Beatrice Philip (Mrs E. W. Godwin, Mrs J. McN. Whistler) (1857-1896) on an unrelated draft letter from J. McN. Whistler to Robert de Montesquiou-Fezensac (1855-1921). ¹

It was catalogued in MacDonald 1995 (cat. rais.) [more] (cat. no. 1353) as by Whistler. This has been corrected and the entry amended.
