Bleu et argent: Dieppe is assumed to date from Whistler's visit to Dieppe in the autumn of 1885. It was first exhibited in Exposition Internationale de Peinture et de Sculpture, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, 1887 (cat. no. 177). It should perhaps be identified with Blue and Grey: Dieppe y331, which has also not been identified. ¹
