Marion Henry Alexander Spielmann, journalist and writer on art, married Mabel Henrietta Samuel in December 1880.
Life:
Spielmann was the editor of The Magazine of Art from 1887-1904. He was the art critic of the Graphic (1882-1914), the Pall Mall Gazette (1883-7), the Morning Post, the Globe and others. He bought Study in Grey for the Portrait of F. R. Leyland y095 at Whistler's bankruptcy sale in 1880. He was a member of The Arts Club 1894 until at least 1920.
