Max Williams was a New York print dealer and publisher.
The extent of his contact with Whistler is not known, but he certainly knew Whistler around 1890.
With S. Lipshitz and Joseph Koehler he is among the best known publishers of re-strikes from the lithographic stones of Currier and Ives.
After his death, 365 prints from his stock were sold at auction in 1928.
