Adolphe Braun was a photographer in Paris.
Braun started his career as a textile designer but later turned to photography and founded a studio in Paris in 1868. His subject matter ranged from portraits, landscapes and reproductions of works of art (for which he became particularly well-known) to streetscape photographs of urban life. In 1885, Whistler hoped that he would photograph Arrangement in Black: La Dame au brodequin jaune - Portrait of Lady Archibald Campbell y242 (#09206).
