Dr Isaac Lennox Browne was a throat specialist; he was also a collector. He married a Dublin woman, Mary J. (b. ca 1821).
Browne was registered as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons on 28 February 1863. He was the author of The Throat and its Diseases (1878) and Science and Singing (1884). On 25 October 1884 he purchased Convalescent or Petit Déjeuner; note in opal m0903 from Dowdeswell's (#00867). At this date he was living with his wife at 36 Weymouth Street. He was among those who attended Whistler's Ten O'Clock Lecture at Prince's Hall in February 1885.
