Alexander Arnold Hannay was recorded in 1881 as an articled clerk to a solicitor. He was then living with his father, Alexander Hannay (b. 1822), an independent minister without charge, and mother Mary Agnes nee Hawson (b. 1823), at Lineludon House, Sunnyside Road, London. In the 1891 census A.A. Hannay, his wife Alice Mary, daughter Margaret and son Henry were living in Finchley, Middlesex.
Life:
