Dr Samuel Henry Nazeby Harrington was a Birkenhead print collector.
Harrington began collecting in 1885. He was particularly interested in modern prints and had a particularly fine collection of over 600 etchings by Haden. He also owned prints by Meryon, Legros, Whistler, Zorn, Cameron, Short, Strang, McBey, Bauer, Dodd, Lepère, McLaughlin, Spence, Finnie and Bone. He was the author of a couple of well-regarded catalogues of the works of Haden, A Supplement to Sir William Drake's Catalogue of The Etched Work of Sir Francis Seymour Haden, P.R.E. (1903) and The Engraved Work of Sir Francis Seymour Haden. P.R.E., An Illustrated and Descriptive Catalogue (1910). In 1911 he was involved with A Memorial Exhibition of etchings, dry-points and drawings by Sir Francis F. Seymour Haden at the Leicester Galleries, writing a prefatory note in the catalogue. He donated a large number of his Haden prints and drawings to the British Museum. He also made donations of Whistler etchings to the Walker Art Gallery, including K0330213, K0360211 and K0700212, and sold other choice Whistler impressions to Kennedy & Co. in 1916.
