George Percy Jacomb Hood, artist, married Reta de Hochehied Larpent.

Life:

Hood was a genre painter, illustrator and graver. He was a member of the Society of British Artists, and one of Whistler's supporters at the Royal Society of British Artists, later resigning. As he describes in With Brush and Pencil, Hood studied at the Slade and under Lavery in Paris. In 1886 Hood painted Whistler's table palette in his Fulham Studio and found The Gold Scab y208 in a pawn-shop in the King's Road in 1892.

He lived at 112 Lexham Gardens, Kensington, W. His studio, built 1878/9, was at Trafalgar Studios, Manresa Road. In 1885 Wentworth Studios, Manresa Road were built, where he ran a school with W. Thomas Smith. Hood also had one of the four studios in Carlyle Studios near 296 Kings Road, which were built in 1881/82, where Theodore Roussel and Harper Pennington also had studios. In 1893, he was living at 32 Tite Street, Chelsea.

Hood was a member of The Arts Club between 1888-1910. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1879, the Grosvenor Gallery, the Society of British Artists, the Royal Society of British Artists from 1885 and in Winter 1886-87 and Winter 1887-88. He was also a member of the New English Art Club for a while.
