Cyril Constantine Luke Alexander Ionides was the son of Lucas Alexander ‘Luke’ (Alexander) Ionides (1837-1924) and Elfrida Elizabeth (George) Bird (1848-1929). He married Mary Isabel (Frederick) Pigou (1867-1948). Their children were Captain Hugo ‘Meynell’ Cyril (Cyril) Ionides (1900-1991) who married Mary Rosalind ‘Linda’ (Harold) Rankin (m. 1924); Ingram Amyas ‘Inky’ (Cyril) Ionides (1901-1984) who married Katharine Amy ‘Bob’ (Hugh) Woolner (m. 1956/1957) and Margaret Irene (Cyril) Ionides (b. 1903) who married Sharon Turner (James) Chambers in 1927.

Life:

A member of the Ionides family, major patrons of Whistler, he inherited the portrait of his father, Portrait of Luke A. Ionides y032, in 1924.
