Hugo Meynell Cyril Ionides was the son of Cyril Constantine Luke Alexander Ionides (1873-1924) and Mary Isabel (Frederick) Pigou (1867-1948). He was the oldest child. In 1924 he married Mary Rosalind ‘Linda’ Rankin.
