Blanche Maria Georgiana Watney was the daughter of Georgiana and Frederick Burrell. She was a businesswoman and collector. In 1856 she married James Watney jr (1832-1886), the brewer (of the firm of Watney Combe & Reid), cricketer and Liberal MP. They had three children, Florence Blanche (1857–1863), Vernon James (1860–1928) and Claude (1866–1919)
Life:
She bought 49 Prince’s Gate for £25,000 in 1894. She remodelled the house but retained Harmony in Blue and Gold: The Peacock Room y178 intact. She sold the Peacock Room ten years later.
