Provenance

  • ca 1895/1900: bought by Agnes Inglis née Denny (1843-1925), Glasgow;
  • 1925: passed by family descent to her son Edwyn ('Ted') 0swald Inglis (b. 1884), advocate, Sheriff-Substitute of Renfrew and Bute at Greenock from 1940;
  • 1954: bought from Inglis by the University of Glasgow.

Further details are given in MacDonald 1995 (cat. rais.) [more] (cat. no. 810). The entry has been revised. Note that this was not part of the Birnie Philip Gift or Bequest, but was bought by the University in 1954.
