• 1903: in Whistler's studio at his death and bequeathed to Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958);
• 1955: sold by her to Colnaghi's, London dealers (A/c #21176);
• 1955: bought by Edward Brian Seago (1910-1974), Norfolk;
• 1974: bequeathed to Peter Seymour (fl. 1952) and passed on his death to his widow.
