• 1903: 'Blue & Silver - Afternoon. The Channel' bought on 8 May from Whistler by Richard Albert Canfield (1855-1914).
• 1914: sold to Knoedler's, New York art dealers, 12 March;
• 1914: bought in March by Roland F. Knoedler (1856-1932) for his wife Louise Knoedler.
• 1976: bought on 22 June by Wunderlich's, New York dealers, from a private collector;
• 1978: bought by Coe Kerr, New York dealers;
• 1984: sold to a private collector.
