  • 1903: in the artist's studio at his death and bequeathed to his sister-in-law and executrix, Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958);
  • 1957: bought by P. & D. Colnaghi & Co., Ltd, London art dealers, 25 January, and sold on 17 May to Francis Falconer Madan (1886-1961);
  • 1961: bequeathed to the Ashmolean Museum.
