  • 1903: in the artist's studio at his death and bequeathed to his sister-in-law and executrix, Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958);
  • 1956: bought by P. & D. Colnaghi & Co., Ltd, London art dealers, 11 May 1956;
  • 1957: bought on 5 November by Alister Mathews (1907-1985), art dealer, Bournemouth;
  • 1958: sold on 20 February to Hyman Swetzoff (d. 1968), Swetzoff Gallery, Boston.
