  • 1885: acquired from the artist by Walter Richard Sickert (1860-1942) (according to Sickert);
  • 1907: sold by Sickert to Obach, London art dealers;
  • 1907: bought from Obach's by Charles Lang Freer (1856-1919) , Detroit, on 22 October;
  • 1919: bequeathed to the Freer Gallery of Art.
