Bravura in Brown

Provenance

Not known.

Exhibitions

  • 1884: 'Notes' - 'Harmonies' - 'Nocturnes', Messrs Dowdeswell, London, 1884 (cat. no. 66) as 'Bravura in Brown'.

The Morning Post on 24 May 1884 called the exhibited work 'a subtle arrangement of colours in warm brown and grey.'

It is possible that it was Bravura in brown [M.0928], but if so it was not, as was suggested, a portrait of M. W. Ridley.
