Description

According to Thomas Wilson (1832-1901), in a class supervised by 1st Lieut. Richard S. Smith, assistant Professor of Drawing, 'Whistler was painting in water-colours from a picture representing the interior of a cathedral, with monks and nuns scattered about.' 1
