Provenance

  • 1869/1873: possibly kept by Walter Greaves (1846-1930), and given much later to William Stephen Marchant (1868-1925) ;
  • 1925: bequeathed to his widow, Cicely Gertrude Marchant (ca 1881-1955);
  • 1955: passed to their descendants including their daughter Marjorie G. J. Marchant, Mrs Frederick (Tommy) Thompson (1906-1979);
  • 1983: given to the University of Glasgow.
