ca 1901: she sent the drawings for auction at Robinson and Fisher's, London, but, 'In the middle of the sale, Whistler came in, declared the picture and the drawings were not by him, and the result was they did not sell ... The drawings Miss Chambers left with the auctioneers for a few days after that first attempt, and when she went to get them, two or three had disappeared.' 2
