  • Date unknown: possibly owned by Blanche Marchesi (1863-1940) .
  • 1926: probably bought from John Postle Heseltine (1843-1929) by Colnaghi's, London dealers, 16 July;
  • 1927: probably bought from Alphonse Kann through Martin Birnbaum (1878-1970) by Grenville Lindell Winthrop (1864-1943), 1 December;
  • 1943: bequeathed by Winthrop to the Fogg Art Museum.
