r.: Head of a lady and studies of a cat; v.: Two studies of a sleeping man, by an unknown hand dates from about 1887. The sheet is mounted in an album with other drawings acquired by Whistler's son Charles James Whistler Hanson (1870-1935) (see Ship [M.1146]).
The drawings on the verso may be by Hanson.
