• Date unknown: said (by Graves) to have been owned by Charles William Deschamps (1848-1908) .
• 1891: with Henry Graves (1806-1892) and Algernon Graves (1845-1922) , London publishers and art dealers;
• 1894: sold at auction, Christie's, London, 21 July 1894 (lot 129) 'On the Pier' and bought either by 'Reid' or 'Wallis'.

Wallis was a London art dealer, and Reid may have been Alexander Reid (1854-1928) , Glasgow art dealer.
