  • 1890/1903: said to have been bought from Whistler by 'Behg', Paris;
  • By 1904: bought from 'Behg' by John Henry Wrenn (1841-1911) ;
  • 1911: passed by family descent to a private collector;
  • 1982: sold at auction, Sotheby's, New York, 2 December 1982 (lot 14, repr.) and bought by a private collector;
  • By 2015: Thomas Colville Fine Art, New York, NY, and Guilford, CT.
