• 1903: in Whistler's studio at his death and bequeathed to Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958) ;
• 1957: sold to Colnaghi's, London art dealers, 22 October;
• 1957: bought by Edward Brian Seago (1910-1974) , Norfolk, 3 December;
• 1974: bequeathed to Peter Seymour (fl. 1952) , Norfolk, who bequeathed it to a private owner.
