  • 1921: bequeathed by Antonie, Mrs E. Amsinck (d. 1921), widow of Ludwig Edwin Amsinck (d. 1897) , to the Kunsthalle, Hamburg;
  • 1926: sold on 26 May to the Galerie Commeter, Hamburg;
  • 1927: bought (as 'Maine') through Martin Birnbaum (1878-1970) by Grenville Lindell Winthrop (1864-1943) , 1 December 1927;
  • 1943: bequeathed to the Fogg Art Museum.

Earlier provenance is unknown.
