  • 1903: in Whistler's studio at his death, and bequeathed to his ward and executrix, Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958) ;
  • 1943: bought by Colnaghi's, London art dealers, and sold to Sir Bruce Stirling Ingram (1877-1963), on 2 June 1943.
  • 1974: bought from L. Hermann by Agnew's London art dealers, 27 February, and sold to a private collector.
