  • 1903: bought on 8 May from Whistler by Richard Albert Canfield (1855-1914) , Providence, RI;
  • 1914; bought on 12 March by Knoedler's, New York dealers;
  • 1917: sold to Ralph King (1801-1878) , Cleveland, June1917;
  • 1924: given on 2 January by Mr and Mrs King to the Cleveland Museum of Art.
