  • 1903: in the artist's studio at his death and bequeathed to his sister-in-law and executrix, Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958) ;
  • 1955: bought on 25 June by P. & D. Colnaghi & Co., Ltd, London art dealers, and sold on 18 July to Villiers David (1906-1985) ;
  • 1985: sold at auction, Christie's, New York, 6 December 1985 (lot 185, repr.) and bought by Ira Spanierman (n/a), New York dealer;
  • 1987: Christie's, New York, 29 May 1987 (lot 91);
  • 1988: Christie's, New York, 30 September 1988 (lot 133);
  • 1996: still with the Spanierman Gallery.
