The panel is painted with long flowing brushstrokes of creamy textured paint. The pale grey priming remains visible and forms a unifying base colour.
It was cleaned by Harry R. H. Woolford (National Galleries of Scotland) for Agnew's, London, in 1960. 1 There appear to be slight abrasions at the edges, possibly caused by the frame.
28.3 x 37.8 cm (11 1/8 x 14 7/8").
1: Information from Evelyn Joll, Agnew's, 19 May 1960, recorded by A. McLaren Young, GUL WPP files.
