Several drawings, including the one illustrated here, are by Beatrice Philip (Mrs E. W. Godwin, Mrs J. McN. Whistler) (1857-1896); this particular drawing is rather like her drawing of Study for 'Rose et argent: La Jolie Mutine' [M.1326]. Clearly Whistler and his wife worked together at times and their drawing styles converged.
